First Impression

When I first saw the name of this subject, I was like 'The hell? This subject's gonna be goddamn boring.' But when I actually had the first class, I realized I was wrong. Well, like what Ms Carmen said, the first class was really mind-blowing. Most of us have been mind-fxxcked. Even myself start doubting - is showing middle finger really a rude thing?

Of course, it looks pretty funny when the whole class is pointing the mid finger. But let's think deeper - who on the earth determined the pointing mid finger is rude? Who made this rule? Well, we all learn that pointing mid finger is rude from culture. It is learnt. Yes, we passively learnt it. We passively absorbed what was taught and told by our parents, teacher, friends and people around us. We did not really think about it; we did not really doubt it; we did not really question and challenge the tradition.

Ms Carmen is super brilliant. Yes, it is just a middle finger. Yes, it is funny that the whole class is pointing middle finger at the same time. But when we think deeper, it is not just a middle finger; it represents knowledge that we passively absorbed. After the class, I started doubting a lot of things. Who on the earth determined the 'rule' of dressing? Who the hell determined what is rude and what is polite? All these things are learnt.
